The Love Goes On…
It contained people from all walks of life
and with different dynamics. It carried the bourgeoisies, the elites, the
middle class, the poor, the famous, the not-known, the beauties, the not
too-good-looking, the outspoken, the timid amongst others.
The titanic was life itself. How amazing that
‘life’ travelled and lived on the surface of the waters. I believe it had a
magnificent view from every angle as it sat on the surface of the water and was
watched in awe. Its existence could be attributed to a rare diamond found among
stones.
It’s not surprising that thousands of people wanted to travel in it, but guess what? Only a few had space! Many plotted
and devised ways and means of entering but failed. Some people cursed for not
having access to be in it while others blessed and thanked their stars for
being part of ‘life’s’ voyage – an amazing trip it will be!
The titanic had taken all safety measures and
everything was under control; ready to embark on a journey that was memorable
and will forever remain in the annals of history – which it has!
Having this assurance, the journey began
amidst merry making, socialization, conversations, confrontations, knowing
you-knowing me’s, chit chats, show offs of talent, skills and abilities and as
many activities as it could contain.
The people on board the titanic had joy, they
had fun, and they had seasons as it’s in the skies. Life was good! There was so
much to share and enjoy so much that the nights became shorter whilst the days
became longer. The only silence that was heard in the titanic was the constant
giggling of the heart as it rested in the body –yes the heart giggled!
Days and nights went by and ‘life’ continued
its journey on the surface of the water. The water geared it on and gave it so
much hope. So much hope that it could not foresee the iceberg – the very thing
that halted the beautiful journey of ‘life’. The huge titanic could not avoid
the iceberg. It tried everything in its capacity to but could not. The iceberg
broke into titanic’s watertight compartments and opened it to the sea. The
sea water gradually filled it. The only option it had was to deal with the iceberg head on and have hopes of surviving. It had to survive and ensure that every
part of it survived and everybody on board did too.
I believe the end of the great titanic is
known. Even though some survived, so much was destroyed and many were lost in
the process. The end of the titanic ignites so much pain and passion in us. The
emotions are countless! Mixed feelings of pain and joy, sorrow and regret, hope
and despair!
And that’s the story of our friendship. I donno
if we will survive the iceberg but I know so much has been lost in the
shipwreck. So much has been missed in the process. So much has been wasted and
so much cannot be replaced.
Whatever that happens, I know one thing for
sure – that the love will still go on!
