Fun at the lorry station

A magnitude of fun burst out among numerous young boys and girls all over. Some chasing each other and others teasing and pulling the clothes of the other. These young boys are probably driver’s mates. The ones who have a touch of romance are seen trying to talk to the young girls who are selling one thing or the other in a pan on their hands. Some try to position the items in the pan properly for the young girls; all to score some romantic points...lol

One thing you cannot fathom is what these young boys and girls are happy about. It’s an early morning at the lorry station with a lot of activities all over. Everybody is engaged in one thing or the other; calling out the names of the towns/ cities the vehicles are going to, pulling the clothes and hands of prospective passengers to climb on a particular vehicle, selling items your mind could imagine; from pepper to phones, preaching the word of God, selling songs on pen drives, etc. Despite all of these, the young boys and girls are extremely happy. The older men and women are busily engaged in their activity with so much seriousness and energy that they could not afford to blink an eye for fun. 

Even though the young boys and girls are engaged in their own activities, they deliver them amidst this enormous fun. One guy who is asked to clean a vehicle by his master, got his friends around the car who will tease him and tell him all he knows how to do is to clean the car. And that he should be a bold and learn how to move the car. He tells his friends that he is able to move the car and so they should watch him do it. He climbs into the car, inserts the key and turns on the ignition. The cry of the car catches the attention of his master who calls out his name and questions why he is moving the car. He lies and tells his master he wants to wash the other side of the car tyre. His master tells him he is a fool and that he does not need to wash the tyre which will pass through a muddy water just some few meters away from the station. And that all he asked him to do was to clean the body of the car a bit.

His friends burst out in laughter. They laugh at him so hard that, he stops cleaning the car and starts chasing them. And its mad fun for them as they jump over people’s items laid on the floor for sale with insults and curses from the owners of these items. They get to a point where an egg seller, who appears to be friends with them, tries to separate the pursuer. She pleads with him to forgive them and leave them alone but meets resistance from him. Eventually, she promises him an egg of which he agrees. She takes him to where she had put the eggs and gives him one. The friends who were being chased, realizing that he has received an egg, then retreats to the egg seller for their share. The young boy who was chasing them now tries to avoid them from taking some of the egg and then another battle ensues; amidst fun and laughter.
